“Travel that enhances the mind, body and soul through simple acts of kindness”

***We are very excited to say that we have found an organization to work with in Uganda this fall. We will be traveling to Kampala, Uganda to work with the BUVAD organization. Check them out at www.buvad.org! We will be assisting them in fund raising, then building wells for an outlying poor community that currently has no access to potable drinking water. The community typically lives on (an equivalent of) only a few $’s per month. We will be headed to Uganda in November/December of 2010. Keep checking back with us on how to get involved! ***

Welcome to Karma Travels. Our site is dedicated to the love of helping others and traveling. On May 14, 2009, we embarked on a two-year journey around the world, with the goal of living the Karma Travels philosophy the entire way.  We started our trip volunteering and hiking in Central and South America, made a stop in Hawaii for our 2nd anniversary, and we are now in South Korea teaching English to elementary school children. You can follow our adventures by reading our blog, looking at our pictures, and writing to us. It is our goal to promote a culture of caring wherever we go by performing simple acts of kindness and developing a deeper understanding of other cultures.

What is the Karma Travels Philosophy?

Karma Travels is a philosophy based on the belief that the best way to enhance one’s self is through helping others. There is no limit to whom or what you can help. There are an infinite number of ways to pass on kindness in your everyday life and while on the road, thus creating good karma for yourself and the world around you. These acts of kindness can be as easy as opening a door for a stranger or as involved as volunteering abroad.
The Karma Travels philosophy is a way of living and traveling that promotes positive change (or supports positive change). We do this by volunteering in various capacities and by immersing ourselves in each culture to develop a deeper understanding of the issues they face. We find this to be the most rewarding way to travel…and live. We invite each and every one of you to share in this experience in some way by performing acts of kindness in your own lives.

Someone once said that “you cannot help another without also helping yourself.” We have fully experienced the impact of this statement as we have come away from each experience with new friends, new stories, a new sense of belonging, and other positive rewards too numerous to count.

The Karma Travels philosophy is about knowing how your actions will affect the world. It is an undeniable truth that small actions can have huge consequences and it is within each person’s grasp to positively impact the world one person, one group, one community at a time.

How is your karma today?
